Zen 5 Desktop CPUs
Granite Ridge is the codename for AMD’s next-generation desktop CPUs based on Zen 5 architecture. According to leaked shipping manifests, the new series will include 6 and 8 core variants with 105W and 170W TDPs.
Launch Date
The new series is expected to launch around Q3 or Q4 of 2024. This means that we can expect to see these new CPUs on the market sometime between July and December of this year.
Compatibility
Unlike the Ryzen 7000 series APUs, Granite Ridge will likely use the same I/O die as Raphael and is expected to have limited RDNA2 graphics. However, it will still be supported by existing AM5 motherboards. This means that you won’t need to upgrade your motherboard to take advantage of these new CPUs.
